What is the difference between my Patreon subscription and my paid courses?
Ask Marc Anything 🤔
The Question:
I joined your Patreon. Does this mean I’ll continue to have access to the Nord Stage 3 course without the $33 yearly renewal?
Summarized Question:
What is the difference between my Patreon subscription and my paid courses? 🤔
Answer:
Technically, these are two different products I offer.
- It’s another way to support my work as a creator for people not interested in enrolling in a course.
- It’s a place I can post niche content that doesn’t fit into a course - especially for the Stage 3. The Stage 3 is now 19 hours long, and I hesitate to add to that because it will eventually become too big for a typical student looking forward to finishing it.
- It’s a place I can post something without the formality required for YouTube and the courses. For example, YouTube is very strict about using copyrighted material, but Patreon is not. YouTube requires me to lace the videos with “Marketing Speak and Promotional Messaging.” Patreon is pure content with no promotion. Course lessons are also more formal and provide a translation into 6 languages. I also take the time to update lessons as I find better ways to explain things or make them more accurate as my knowledge expands. I don’t take the time to do this with Patreon. As a general rule, the videos on Patreon have way less editing, graphic enhancements, and fanfare, allowing me to produce them quicker and easier.
- It’s a way for people to get a priority answer for something. Just like you have today as a student. But again, not everyone wants to enroll in a paid course if their question is random and unrelated to a Nord keyboard.
- It’s for people to watch extended content, and I commit to a post a week on average on Patreon, far more frequently than I post on YouTube by comparison.
