Can You Use Independent Effects on Nord Samples?
Nord Electro 6D vs Electro 7 Explained
One of the distinguishing factors between the Nord Electro 6 and the new Electro 7 is the way each keyboard handles its effects signal chain. While both instruments offer powerful onboard effects processing, the Electro 6 uses a shared effects architecture, meaning the Piano, Organ, and Synth engines all compete for the same global effects sections. The Electro 7 introduces a major redesign by giving each engine its own dedicated effects chain, dramatically increasing flexibility for layering and live performance setups.
The infographic below breaks down these differences visually so you can quickly understand how the signal flow changes between the two instruments. One particularly important detail is that although reverb remains globally shared on the Electro 7, each engine can independently enable or disable its reverb contribution using the new Layer Send feature. For many players, this will likely represent one of the biggest workflow and sound-design improvements in the entire Electro lineup.
